Safe Syringe Program
Sharing needles, syringes, and other injection equipment puts people who inject drugs (PWID) at high risk for getting HIV and other infections, including hepatitis and other infectious diseases. These can be prevented by providing harm reduction services, including access to sterile injection equipment and promoting safer injection practices. Also, this can be done through increasing access to treatment for substance use disorders.
Marion Public Health offers a Safe Syringe Program (SSP) on Tuesdays and Fridays. The Safe Syringe Program allows participants to receive sterile syringes, education, linkages to access to care, and other community resources.
Tuesdays: 9 AM – 3:30 PM
Fridays: 1 PM – 3:30 PM
