Marion Public Health’s Office of Vital Statistics houses certificates of birth and death occurring in Marion County from 1908 to the present. We can also produce birth certificates from other counties in Ohio. Currently, death certificates are only issued by the county where the death occurred.
The fee for birth and death records is $25.00 each. Marion Public Health will accept cash, money order, or cashier’s check made payable to Marion Public Health. We also accept debit and credit cards. The credit card processing agent will apply a minimum fee of $2.50.
Marion Public Health will not accept personal checks for the purchase of a birth or death certificate.
For your convenience, you may obtain a birth or death record online through an independent company that we have partnered with to better serve you. VitalChek is a secure website used throughout the United States for online requests. An additional fee for this service is charged by VitalChek and all major credit cards are accepted. Overnight UPS Next Day Air and UPS 2 Day Air Service are available for an additional fee. Please click here to access www.vitalchek.com
