We are Marion Public Health (MPH), the Marion County local health department. Our mission is to create a culture of health by providing all people with the opportunity to reach their greatest health potential at every stage of life.

Why It Matters

Local health departments, like MPH, are an essential part of public health. Health departments have several programs and initiatives designed to work with and improve the health of its community. Additionally, health departments work with local organizations, partners, and healthcare facilities to further the work of our own programs. Together, we work to identify and control the spread of disease outbreaks, mitigate the effects of chronic disease, as well as prepare for and respond to disasters and emergencies.
