We encourage all Marion residents to first attempt to see your regular health care provider for your immunizations but we are here to assist in cases where that is not possible. In order to meet the needs of our community, we are offering immunizations by appointment on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Sexual Health and Reproductive Health Services

Marion Public Health offers medical care for men and women and teens for sexual and reproductive health medical services. Services are available Tuesdays by appointment. Services available are provided by Family Nurse Practitioners and are:

  • Testing for sexually transmitted diseases
  • Treatment of sexually transmitted diseases (including sexual contacts)
  • HIV and Hepatitis C testing (results available same day)
  • Pregnancy testing
  • Contraception & Family Planning
  • Women’s Health annual exams including pelvic and pap smears
  • FREE condoms

Cost:
At our clinic, you receive professional and confidential care no matter what your income or insurance status is. Our screenings, exams, birth control and consultations are very affordable, and in many cases free of charge. We offer a considerate sliding price scale based on your income. If you have health insurance, we can work with your provider also. We won’t let the fear of cost ever prevent a client from making an appointment. It’s important to note – we have options for EVERYONE.

FREE HIV and Hepatitis C Testing

Marion Public Health Nurses offer free HIV and Hepatitis C testing. HIV and Hepatitis C test results are available within 20 minutes. Public Health Nurses also provide counseling and education for preventing sexually transmitted diseases.

TB Testing

Marion Public Health’s Nursing department offers 1 and 2-step TB testing.

  • TB skin testing (PPD) is done every Monday by appointment from 8:30 am to 11:30 am.  Appointments can be made by calling 740-387-6520.
  • You must return within 48 hours to have the test read. Readings are done on Wednesdays, and will be at the same time of your original Monday appointment.
  • Public health nurses provide referral, monitoring, and case management for positive skin tests, TB disease and latent infection.
