Now accepting resumes for an Environmental Health Specialist/Sanitarian

Marion Public Health is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of full time Environmental Health Specialist or Environmental Health Specialist in Training. Applicants must have a minimum of Bachelor’s degree with at least 45 quarter or 30 semester hours in math and science courses acceptable by the State Board of Sanitarian Registration. Specialist in Training candidates must show proof of graduation and application to the State Board of Sanitarian Registration.

The successful candidate will work in many, if not all of the health district’s environmental health programs as a generalist. Duties may include but are not limited to inspection and consultation in the areas of: food protection, private water systems, household sewage disposal, public swimming pools, nuisances, mobile home parks, campgrounds, rabies, schools, and solid waste. Starting salary will depend on qualifications with an excellent benefits package available including medical, dental, vision insurance, PERS, paid holidays, personal days, paid sick leave, credentials, and memberships paid. A department vehicle is available for job use.

An alternative work schedule is offered.
