Marion Public Health is Nationally Accredited!

Marion Public Health is excited to announce that we have recently been awarded five-year accreditation status through the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB). This national accreditation program sets standards against which the nation’s public health departments can continuously improve the quality of their services and performance. To receive accreditation, a health department must undergo a rigorous, multi-faceted, peer reviewed assessment process to ensure it meets or exceeds a set of quality standards and measures.

From Our Health Commissioner:

“Our team is committed to quality. Becoming accredited by the national experts at Public Health Accreditation Board means Marion is being served by a team that meets the same practice standards as the very best health departments in the country. Our community should expect that. As the Health Commissioner, I know I do. Most importantly, the team at Marion Public Health expects it of themselves. I could not be more proud of their ongoing pursuit of quality improvement.

I also want to thank our partners in the community for all they do as part of the greater public health system that is working to build a culture of health in Marion and to thank the Board of Health for supporting this effort.”
