Flu Vaccinations Recommended

By February 22, 2017News
We are saddened by the loss of a child this week. Our thoughts are with his family. It serves as a stark reminder of the possible outcomes of illnesses we often think of as common. Here is a brief note about the flu.

“Influenza cases continue to rise. Flu can cause mild to severe illness. There are times, such as when there are other medical issues involved, when the flu can lead to death. Flu symptoms can include fever, cough, sore throat, runny/stuffy nose, body aches, and fatigue. You can infect someone 1 day prior to illness onset and 5-7 days after you get sick. Getting an annual flu vaccine is the first and best way to protect yourself from the flu along with frequent hand-washing and staying home from school if you are sick. Marion Public Health is still encouraging residents to get vaccinated.”
